You’ve read it right, flairs are finally here.
No longer will you have to endure cringe and based opinions alike, in a vast and boring sea of flairlessness. No longer will you have to actually read someone’s take, to be able to judge them. I bring you… THE FUNNI COLOURS.
@Atalocke@lemmy.basedcount.com and I have been hard at work on this feature for the last couple months and we’re so glad to finally see it live. There is, however, an asterisk.
For the time being, only users from our instance (lemmy.basedcount.com) can see and set user flairs, as this feature doesn’t propagate through federation. As such, users from other instances (less than half of the !pcm@lemmy.basedcount.com userbase) won’t notice any changes.
My next project will be bringing support for user flairs to other instances through a browser extension, but that’ll probably take me some time.
Of course, if you want the full PCM experience™️ you can always open an account here (wink wink).
In the meantime, enjoy your funni colours, pcm. Stay based and flair the fuck up.
Yeah that’s what I hope as well.
The Lemmy devs have proposed us to include this in the Lemmy source code and make it a widely available features but honestly it’s such a MASSIVE undertaking for just the two of us. Idk if and when we’ll be able to do that.
Hm, i mean lemmy is open development, if you can get a framework maybe others start contributing as well
