Seems really weird for fender to go down this path, at least to me. There are already lots of other companies with more experience doing this kind of stuff (and for cheaper, no less), so I’m not sure who this is for.

I think they should have simply started with a pedal version of their Tonemaster amps (a la UA Dream 65) in an affordable package, and go from there instead of jumping in the deep end with a all-in-one super modelling platform.

That’s probably the point though. Touring bands a increasingly switching to this kind of rig. So there’s definitely market pressure to get into this segment before it becomes niche to have real amps on stage.

If I Google “Helix modeler” 2 of the four Shop now links are $1699, one is $1299, and one is $699. For “Neural DSP quad cortex” there were no units under $1699, some over $2k. ToneX is for sure cheaper, but does the ToneX have the full Amplitude multi FX capabilities? Or is it just an amp profiler? The UX on the Tone Master Pro, with a large touch screen and the foot switches also being knobs, looks really good. Ola and RJ said there was no explanation of the review unit or comprehensive manual, and they got it up and running just poking around on it.

Anecdotally, I see way more Strymon Iridium’s on pedal board posts than UA single-amp pedals. And the TC Ampworx line seems to really undercut UA with good enough quality. And if I want to have multiple amps setup for a shoe I’d rather have a single unit that can do all of them than have to parallel route that many single-amp pedals. I would guess that Fender’s market analysis says this kind of multi FX unit is a bigger segment.
