Banning chat user ID I67S-5b53a01a7bdecbd44adc appears to also ban another user: ZC2R-f25c2d7e4e53b3df2c5d.
My current theory is that the ban ID alone isn’t the full mechanism — even though the IDs appear unique, the system might be applying a broader upstream or shared network block. Could this be related to both users using the same VPN provider or exit node?
Can anyone confirm if bans affect more than just the specific ID?
it’s kinda all mixed up but here’s my conclusion:
// 🔐VPN IP Conflict list🛜 // [Banned account]: Troll's IP which would conflict with innocent affected users // DEC0-a445178fe0f9a41e853d // 4Q7U-2e3486e5250e20973993 // 73BN-6ba259ab643205e004c0 (Surfshark EU VPN) // DXTI-5eace6d109e009747688 // I67S-5b53a01a7bdecbd44adc // 9BV8-0674bdbbd00c8bcc3beb // [Affected account]: User accounts that got IP overlapped or affected with above // 4Q7U-2e3486e5250e20973993 // 73BN-6ba259ab643205e004c0 (Surfshark EU VPN) // ZC2R-f25c2d7e4e53b3df2c5d // B3VW-8f69a60c49965b5637d0 (Opera VPN) // IHME-10c28cc70d0d10fae7e7 (claimed no VPN) // 6D1M-e22af98df88cd3b903d4 (claimed no VPN) // [Alt account]: Troll's alt not proven affecting any users yet, but potentially problematic // 9EWG-e86e24411595e1201391 // YEF9-e0e4206e3570ed23917b // ATJ2-1aab10037fa317adabcb // T6FR-a94fb77567f9f5682cef // L2YU-922eea9a60bc9cf7093b // L26I-b643b73ab8d0a349aae0 // 7F6K-8eea499329617873f8bfNote that a user’s ID is based on their IP address, so you’re actually banning a particular IP address. This is usually fine, but sometimes it can result in banning several people - e.g. if a school has a single IP address for all students, then everyone using that school’s wifi will have the same user ID. You may want to have a separate comments area with no bannedUsers list for people that are requesting to be unbanned due to e.g. being at the same school as someone else who was previously banned.
and you are using the ban list incorrectly, what you are writing and the tag that is randomly assigned to the user when logging into the site. Its should not be there.
// DEC0-a445178fe0f9a41e853d // 4Q7U-2e3486e5250e20973993 // 73BN-6ba259ab643205e004c0 (Surfshark EU VPN) // DXTI-5eace6d109e009747688 // I67S-5b53a01a7bdecbd44adc // 9BV8-0674bdbbd00c8bcc3bebDEC0-a445178fe0f9a41e853d
thats will be correct // a445178fe0f9a41e853d // 2e3486e5250e20973993 // 6ba259ab643205e004c0 (Surfshark EU VPN) // 5eace6d109e009747688 // 5b53a01a7bdecbd44adc // 0674bdbbd00c8bcc3bebAnd what’s bothering me is that, there are cases that obviously different IP that there’s no way to predict - will cross reference Like IP abc123 banned will also ban xyz456, I don’t know how to avoid that.
official image gen also dont use random tags in banned user list

and in itself plugin site author wrote without tags in example https://perchance.org/comments-plugin

Omg it’s literally down there 😭 and it’s known the guide are always outdated
idk, I have banned only 1 person on my page in all this time, and I did it without a tag, and his messages were deleted. Well, maybe it doesn’t matter with a tag or not :0
But it work with random tag all the time and same method is used in the official image gen

UPDATED This
DEC0-a445178fe0f9a41e853dand that4Q7U-2e3486e5250e20973993are alt from same troll, both banned from long long time ago. Since I need to ban both, I suppose they won’t cross-interaction.However recently a user has exact the same tag as 4Q7U (??!!) And, I need to also unban the DECO to unlock it. So now they had some dynamic change???
Another interesting case:
T6FR-a94fb77567f9f5682cefwill makeBW4P-242262c7e72845f25c4abannedNote:
-
I am sure both [T6FR] was banned long before [BW4P] showing up. So this conflicts is dynamic - if it’s consistent why only happened today? I should never meet [BW4P] if it’s bonded to always happen.
-
It’s not only inconsistent but also intermittent. When I decided to save [BW4P] out, may witnesses noticed he was already unbanned, and then banned later. There’s a mysterious devil’s hand making [T6FR] conflicts with [BW4P] intermittently.
