It’s over. Feels like losing an old friend. Let’s morn the loss of our old community for a few days, remember that best of post and conversations, and more forward. This was our Summer “Eternal September” moment. Make this new home vibrant, share you passions, make closer friends, and keep coming back. Things are weird, so is change. It was home to many of us for 17 years, it’s almost old enough to vote; and it’s CEO did. So fuck /u/spez, welcome; make this the home you keep coming back to. @green_dragon@lemmy.world
I just deleted my 11 year old account completely, having using Power Suite Delete yesterday to delete the data on it.
My parting comment in the deletion dialog was thus where it asked “Help Reddit Improve”:
"Reddit Management does not suffer from Imposter Syndrome.
Imposter Syndrome is when a fully capable individual feels as though they are not able to perform a job or task.
Reddit Management does not suffer from Imposter Syndrome, because that is EXACTLY how you should feel about yourselves.
Incompetent and incapable."
My account was banned due to the username. It was made in jest before the war in Ukraine. I’m glad they banned it though; it was a 10 year account.
The platform is just a platform. Ultimately, it’s the people that make it great. So when all the cool people were leaving, I joined 'em. I did it from Digg to Reddit and now from Reddit to Lemmy.
Hello, cool Lemming people.
Agree completely. I’ve been migrating from system since bulletin boards were around. It’s nice to see change in action!
Feels pretty heavy for a shower thought, but I agree!
Doesn’t take long to get over that redd slut. I’ve been here on .world since 1.21k total users on the 9th. I haven’t touched old redd ever since. Every time I see results show up in a search, it’s like an annoying text message after leaving that cheating whore. Ive got more self-respect than any fool that responds to such nonsense. Once a cheating whore; always a cheating whore, as far as I am concerned. Welcome to the next chapter of the internet.
