This is a thing I have noticed in a lot of lemmy apps, there is no feature to go to a certain instance and view it locally. The closest is voyager for lemmy’s website, where you have to manually change the url, and then you can view the instance you want.

Amazing app so far, hope Mr.Mayayo sees this post.

Seconding this request - it would be really helpful if I could select guest mode then pick the instance I want to see and get to browsing.

Browsing /local on new instances is a great way to find new communities to follow, things don’t always make it to /all on my home instance.

Connect does this which is why it is still my primary lemmy app. Lets you ‘sign in’ as a guest into an instance and view stuff locally.

Wefwef has this and is a pretty decent app. Click on your profile (middle button at bottom) then click “accounts” and pick your instance or hit the edit to add a new instance.

yup, I just want the ability to easily switch and surf different instances, dunno why these guys are talking about multiple accounts and stuff.

In case your primary goes poof someday

In case you want to post from separate unconnected accounts for privacy

In case you want to build different profiles that are all subbed to different content

It’s called adding an account on boost. Once your account is added you can easily switch between them like ok boost for reddit
