Treasurer Stephen Mullighan says that if the universities of Adelaide and South Australia don’t “voluntarily” agree to amalgamate they risk losing merger support funding while still facing a government-established inquiry to “find ways in which the universities can merge”.
I don’t know anything about this, as I’m from out of state and just saw this article from the Local feed. What’s the 411 on this? From the article it seems like they initiated this themselves but now they might not want to anymore?
Basically, you hit the nail on this issue… they wanted it, it git backed, state gov approved and will help with the merger with some funding…
It then has just sat there and nothing is happening.
State Gov is now stamping feet for them to get a move on.
