A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet has been lost at sea after it fell overboard from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier while it was being towed on board, the Navy said in a statement on Monday.

      I guess they’ll at least try to salvage or destroy it themselves. Even if the electronics etc. are defective, a jet in almost perfect condition might be pretty interesting to analyze for foreign nations.

        It’s far from perfect condition after a dive like that in that water. I’d be surprised if it’s remotely salvageable, might be good for some intel but most equipment sitting on deck is probably mostly declassified by now anyway.
