Was the referee in the Spurs v Sheffield match doing the old “keep playing until Spurs get back into it” approach?

Satisfying to see Man United get drubbed at home. Brighton is always a dangerous team, but they really stepped up today. Haag still has a lot of work to do (assuming they don’t fire him first).

True. And the fact that he keeps picking Antony over Sancho (who isn’t fantastic but is better than Antony) makes me question his judgement.

But hey, if he keeps the clusterfuck rollercoaster going at Yanaited then hey, that’s fine with me!

I find it quite a coincidence that Newcastle has gotten so many Saturday 5:30PM UK kickoffs. This is 12:30PM ET in the US. The time slot that airs for free in the United States via NBC affiliated stations. I’m suspecting the EPL heads and the Saudis are trying to grow the Newcastle fanbase in the States.

3 years ago, I would have never imagined Ansu Fati would be in a Brighton shirt. Let’s see if he can make an impact in his first match.

If it wasn’t for Everton being as bad as they’ve been, I’d say the 3 promoted teams are nailed on for relegation.

Very promising half time scores. Little bit worried that Liverpool despit thay awful first half. They are stepping up, looking much better now they have some midfielders.

That’s actually crazy. It’s one thing for a team like us or city to crash out cause we were unprepared and/or didn’t play well, but for teams like that to be guaranteed to not qualify just cause of the way the system works is insane

It’s cuz this is Man United’s first season in Europe. Tbf I’m down with them getting knocked out cuz fuck 'em, but either way the system is very harsh. Paris have been consistently quite decent in France for a while as well, so for them it sucks as well that they’re unseeded, but again makes some sense considering their European record.

Alternatively we should get a Women’s Europa League, which tbh I’d prefer to expanding the UCL, cuz it would give more spotlight to teams that can’t quite make the UCL cut

I wonder who’s actually in the leadership group; I know Arteta didn’t wanna tell us but

Ødegaard and Jesus obviously are captain and vice, then my guess would be Nketiah and big gabi? And probably rice will get in there some time soon enough

Yeah that matches with what I was reading this morning. Ode (obviously), Fast Gabby, Big Gabby, and Eddie.

And yes, I imagine Rice will almost certainly join them once he’s settled in a bit more.

Bit surprised to see Eddie in there, but fair play to the lad. Apparently the evidence for him being in there was that he captained the side in one of the Emirates Cup matches, and then he took over as captain against Fulham towards the end of that match.
