I’m just curious what y’all think about that aspect of your identity. What’s it based on? What are its limits?

Theres seperation between church and state, but that comes from Christianity, and a lot of the other constitutional values come from Christianity.

Many of the founding fathers were deist but many of the citizens were Christian. The separation was something that came up much later. Some of the original states had a state religion. Religion and the government is an interesting topic. It was much more tolerated in the past
