I know I shouldn’t be prescriptive, because some people do use “refute” to mean “deny” and I understand what this person is trying to say and that’s what matters, but it’s still like… Pretty funny for someone to use a word whose more accepted definition is “to prove false”, and calling that a bad thing.
Maybe I should publish my source summary for Tiananmen. It’s kinda damning for how much hot air has been wasted on it.
