The results it creates are bonkers upside down stupid, and we are bound to them until we get ranked choice voting (or similar).
Because of the goofy voting physics that creates, a not-vote for Harris really, truly does do the same thing as a yes-vote for trump. So the effect, though clearly not the intention, of encouraging people not to vote for harris, is valuing your own purity of conscience over the well-being of Palestinians. Which I don’t accuse you of doing internally. I’m saying it’s what’s happening externally, because of this god damn fun house mirror that is first past the post changing things in ways we cannot ignore if we want our actions and intentions aligned.
We need to be rid of it. We have to still have democracy to get ranked choice voting, so: Harris
You have to be realistic. There are two sets of policies you can vote for. You are not allowed to mix and match. You must choose one set. Just cool your ego and choose the better set. It’s that simple. You may not like all of Harris’s policies, but it would be far more foolish to abstain.
Just because you’re uplifted by the prospect of voting for someone who will continue unconditional arms sales to a genocidal regime, that doesn’t mean everyone who voted for Harris is.
Some of us are disgusted and resent what the Democratic Party has done here.
Where are you getting the premise that I enthusiastically condone Harris’s stance on Israel? I was careful to not leave any reason for that misinterpretation of my reply. I think you are intentionally mischararcterizing me as a genocide supporter. I only insist that the most sensible action now is to vote for the best overall candidate even if you can’t condone this particular position of theirs.

Because instead of even attempting to understand the person you replied to, you lectured instead. They weren’t talking about not voting for Harris. They were talking about not being happy about it.
It looks like we’ve both blown our loads and run out of steam. I’m disengaging before this thread turns into something that will embarrass my future self.
Disgusting fawning over someone who is in full support of genocide. Vote for her if you want, but feel uplifted? Jesus Christ
The key piece you’re not factoring in first past the post:

Dude I know about it. It’s never gonna change.

I’m not really interested in changing that individual’s mind. That was more for the viewers. I did not like the vibes they were spreading.
Yeah, not being happy about genocide really brings everyone down.

Can’t have joy without a little genocide.
Even if we were to agree that’s a reasonable characterization, which it’s not, your choice would be
But I don’t see Harris holding any political office in Israel
