When you first play this game mode it feels bad. You walk around, you get ganked by some jerk stealthing you.

You run around aimlessly. What I’m supposed to do? Why does this matter? You get killed again and again. “This is exactly why PvP is garbage”. It feels bad. You want to complain on Reddit, and why are thieves such dishonorable cowards?

You don’t touch WvW again. Until years later you stumble in there to get your Gift of Battle.

You hate it. You want to hate it. This is bad game design and you are offended being force fed this goose crap. But then you see it… a blue tag at the corner of the map. Chat is going wild telling everyone to come. You move closer and somehow find a whole in the wall in the big castle.

You see hundreds of your friends locksmithing the hell out of a big door. You join their squad and that’s when everything changes.

When you run with a commander who knows what they are doing, this game mode becomes amazing. There is nothing like this kind of mass PvP.

It’s funny because I always heard gamers in other games saying that WvW was just a Zerg fest and numbers and it’s not balanced, etc. I’ve had more fun in this game than in any mass PvP I’ve ever played.

It’s not perfect but it’s fantastic. It’s the best PvP game for people who hate PvP. It’s really, really fun.
