Kamala Harris’ late mother, the prominent breast cancer researcher Shyamala Gopalan, helped shape the presidential candidate's views on health and medicine.
This was beautiful, and I didn’t know this about Kamala. Although I did know she was mixed, and that she was Indian. Which I always found bananas, because they push blackness like that 1% rule (or one-drop - whatever racism - blah!) but they rarely talk about how she is Asian. But also so many Asian Americans are conservatives that it makes me want to take a hammer to my head. Especially on account of many Caucasian republicans not giving a single shit about Asians. Not understanding that there are like…Asian Americans. And promoting violence against Asians as a whole, especially women. But yeah…it sounds like Shyamala was a wonderful woman, and I bet you her research has assisted more than just her focus. As progesterone affects many facets of women’s health. I know that this is some kinda fluff piece to sway people, but it was a nice read nonetheless.
