    Yeah the left doesn’t have any room to talk, at all:

    • Holodomor
    • Great Leap “Forward”
    • Xinjiang/Uyghur Genocide
    • Khmer Rouge
    • Tiananmen Square
    • Fidel Castro’s Cuba
    • Stalin’s USSR

    Many such regimes which were also oppressive of the poor, foreign, ethnic minorities, and neurodivergent. I am sure you will simp for and/or deny every single one of them, though, as you leftists always do.

    The left will never be deserving of the benefits of the contract, they’ve killed more people in the 20th century than all forms of cancer, many major diseases, smoking (bundled into the cancer point somewhat), all forms of accidents, etc

      It’s pretty funny to see someone in the wild who actually thinks because those were Communist countries, the persons in charge must have been ‘Leftists’.

      And damn those Leftists down in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee for growing all that tobacco using slave labor and then lobbying the government for the right to sell their product even though they knew it killed people!

        What’s with the attempted gaslighting? Also are you saying that mass death doesn’t anger you even in the slightest? Or is it that you’re ok with mass death committed by your side?

          First, I wasn’t aware I was on a side.

          Second, there’s no attempt at gaslighting. I’m asking why you’re angry. I think it’s because I’m confused what any of this has to do with brain chips. Maybe it’s a post in the wrong thread?

          So, in short, I’m just asking you for the reason you’ve posted this, in an attempt to better understand why I’m seeing this where I’m seeing it.

      The fact that you think “The Left” is some kind of unified bloc, and furthermore that a government calling themselves leftist actually implies they are leftist, illustrates your poor understanding of the topic.

      Yes, Lemmy has tankies. No, I don’t think you could reasonably class tankies and people who defend those kinds of things as meaningfully leftist.

      Furthermore, attributing these mass killings and/or genocides (which are horrific, to be very clear) to a vague and highly questionable “Leftism™” while refusing to attribute the millions of deaths due to preventable hunger, colonialism, Irish Famine, Bengal Famine, the way the US handles migrants and invades countries, etc. to capitalism and the organisational/governmental approaches it encourages is a clear and transparent attempt to smear leftism as a whole because of the actions of States that were essentially a slightly different form of capitalism that happened to use the aesthetic of leftism while maintaining the worker/owner relations and hierarchies associated with capitalism, but with owners being various State entities rather than individual investors.

      More importantly, I’m very confused at why on earth this is on this thread at all ;p
