i have cut off people from my life for this very reason before. yes. people. plural.

i guess I can be a pushover sometimes but I have limits and if someone tries to push them I can enforce the boundaries I’ve set real fucking quick and i don’t back down.

but this has happened too many times. somebody asks for something/asks me to do something, instead of giving an excuse I explain why I can’t/won’t and they keep trying to convince me to do the said thing.

i don’t get it, how does somebody have the audacity to ask for a favor and then get upset when you say you can’t.

sometimes I think it’s maybe cause I’m 5"3 and skinny or something (not intimidating enough) but i don’t think that’s it.

    You’re talking too much. “No” is a complete sentence. If you give reasons why, you give them a line up of things to argue with.

    If they demand reasons, you just reiterate yourself. “It isn’t something I’m going to do.”

    If you want to be nice about it, you could help them brainstorm alternatives. If they’re being jerks, change the conversation or leave.
