      Chances are this was done before it reached lemmy, because other platforms (notably Facebook) will give you trouble otherwise.

        We should still point it out to not give other users the idea that it would be required.

          Users should read the rules. If you had to point out everything someone may possibly assume, first of all that’s impossible, and second of all you’d run out of characters. This censorship is harmless, and sometimes can be funny.

        This right here is what echoes through my brain through decades of advertisers becoming ‘the backbone of the internet’.

        Like really, take a step back. Whose platform are you co-opting?!

        Internet existed before advertisers (on the internet). Period. Hard stop.

        I will even edit it a Furthermore! here. Diatribe style!

        The people making the posts and comments are the platform. The platform has shown it is mutable, and goes where it thrives best. It has always been this way since the dawn of dialup. 🤜
