This is a feature that as far as i know lemmy does not have, so it might be worth it to checkout and support piefed, it will probably be useful if there are certain topics that are really relevant to you and you want to develop in depth knowledge of.
Could this be implemented in Lemmy as well?
I have wanted this feature for some time now, and it seems like there is decent user interest:
@nutomic@lemmy.ml, do you know if this feature is possible for Lemmy, or perhaps already in the works? I had a quick look on the GitHub but couldn’t find anything.
Here is the relevant issue, but no one is working on it currently.
Thanks for the link to the GitHub issue! Might there be any chance of prioritizing it for an upcoming release?
It seems like a feature which many users would find significant utility in. Since this post, there has already been another post inquiring about this feature.
True there are a lot of issues related to notifications. I will see what I can do.
Any updates on this? From the GitHub page, it looks like work on notifications is contingent on fixing an SQL paging problem. How is that issue going?
Maybe it’s doable with the new plug-ins system? I’ve asked in the issue.
If you can’t find anything on github about it, creating an Issue/Feature request (I think that’s a label there) would probably a good idea
I should note that there’s also the option to simply save a post or comment (the star in the web interface). It can then be found under “Saved” on your user page.
True, but that doesn’t send notifications for comments and replies. You’d still have to remember to check it manually.
