    Yep, the Revanced workaround just died for me. I wonder if making a new fake app to access the API with would work again? I’m sure deactivations would continue to happen periodically even then. Redreader is an accessibility app that still has permission and is of course better than the official app, so I’ll move to that if I want to use Reddit on mobile now.

      I got an error message telling me that something was wrong with my user agent. Is that what you got, too?

      So are you using a patched app and supply your own API key? Could it be that Reddit tries to get rid of that kind of use of their API?

        Yes. It didn’t just start working again on its own for me, but I got it working again: I updated revanced, uninstalled rif, added a description and URL in the app in Reddit settings (see below some people with user agent issues indicating that blank fields are a problem), re-patched the APK, installed the newly patched rif and I seem to be back in business.

        Edit: also yes, I think they’ll keep trying to break this kind of workaround, so I’m not thinking of this as a long term thing.
