As much as I like decentralized alternatives there are plenty of information accounts that are quite useful. For example in my country the rail company informs about interruptions and other issues on Twitter, which is useful to know.
Agreed, got an AMBER alert on my phone the other day and the link for more info leads to their twitter account… Which I couldn’t see without logging in.
Now you can't even read Tweets without an account.Why would you even want to look at it at this point? It’s Nazis all the way down now.

Such public services should not rely on a single communication channel controlled by a capricious private entity.
