Either not spoiled entirely, or I missed it. We see at the end of this ep a play, which I think is enough to make the event mentioned in the layover happen just on extra travel time from that act. The line Ben is on is really slow and a bit irregular while still within the rules because of trains serving only his part of the line and things like that.

If the seekers are willing to ignore the first train back, gift Ben a little time and instead get the next service which terminates in Ben’s town, it’ll wreck his plan.

We can’t conclude from the layover how the plan pans out totally. It could still go either way. But we can suspect from how annoyed someone sounds!
