World News@lemmy.ml•TSMC delays U.S. chip plant start to 2025 due to labor shortages62·2 years agoI offered relevant and unbiased sources. If anything, my sources would be biased against China because they’re western. Also, is it like a royal they, cause last I checked it was exactly one guy.
That’s just sports, isn’t it? Yelling with the crowd, supporting the team no matter what, for this sweet sweet feeling of belonging, no matter if in the wrong. Whatever the outcome, I can only expect a lot of bad faith and deception, and your short focus to span onto the next controversial topic.
You must be talking about yourself here.
I’m feeling really worried for you.
Should be worried about yourself since I clearly live rent free in your head. Maybe take your own advice and seek help yourself instead of harassing strangers in the internet. Not a sign of a healthy mind that if you ask me. Do some introspection because you frankly sound deeply disturbed to me.
Foreign ownership in Canada is largely overblown and just gets used as a talking point by the politicians. We probably have more politicians who are large landlords than foreign owners

World News@lemmy.ml•TSMC delays U.S. chip plant start to 2025 due to labor shortages83·2 years agoSome guy claiming to be from Taiwan and disagreeing with me is not a bunch of Taiwanese debunking anything. Also, we’ll see soon who is actually living in the real world when the election happens, won’t we?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are folks so anti-capitalist?English446·2 years agoPeople are anti-capitalist because they’re increasingly realizing that it’s an abominable system that’s based on mass exploitation of the working class by people who own capital, and it produces oligarchical political systems such as seen in US and many other western countries that tantamount to living under the dictatorship of capitalists.
Capitalism is responsible for some of the worst atrocities in human history including things like the African slave trade, barbarism associated with colonization of America, countless famines such as the Irish and Indian famines, and never ending wars.
Today, capitalist need for growth and consumerism is literally destroying our very habitat that we all depend on at a planetary scale. Either capitalism ends or humanity will end.
It’s like when US calls itself a democracy. :)

World News@lemmy.ml•The West Must Recognize Its Hypocrisy writes Financial TimesEnglish13·2 years agoNo, my complaint isn’t about the Overton window shifting. In fact, I’ve repeatedly explained to you what my actual complaint is which you continue to ignore while making straw man arguments.
My complaint, once again is about people such as yourself sealioning into threads to make personal attacks when you read something you disagree with. I’ve explicitly said that I welcome disagreement and genuine discussion that’s respectful and informed. And I’ve asked you repeatedly to consider doing that if you’re not happy with the type replies you’re seeing when you start trolling.
You never said I sealion you, but you keep trying to make some sort of equivalence between you jumping in to start fights and me reacting in kind. In other words, treat others the way you want to be treated or grow a thicker skin.
The only thing that’s shameful here is what you’re doing and your utter lack of self awareness.
I have no intention to adapting to reddit style trolling where people drown out meaningful discussion with namecalling and personal attacks. Again, respect is earned, and if you want to have a respectful discussion then engage with people respectfully. It’s not a hard concept.

World News@lemmy.ml•The West Must Recognize Its Hypocrisy writes Financial TimesEnglish13·2 years agoShow me a single example where I sealion into your posts and start attacking you.
What you’ve missed clearly is that your tactic of attacking people who disagree with your and namecalling doesn’t make your an appealing ally for anyone. Maybe you should take your own advice, do some self reflection and stop lashing out at people while accusing others of being mean to you. Just a thought.
I’ve been using lemmy for around 4 years now, and we’ve had pleasant and constructive discussion here that whole time. Then a bunch of redditors showed up and started flinging feces.

World News@lemmy.ml•TSMC delays U.S. chip plant start to 2025 due to labor shortages65·2 years agoElections in Taiwan are happening next year, and it’s widely expected that KMT gets back into power. If that happens Taiwan will likely restart the dialog over peaceful repatriation. The fabs are a big bargaining chip for Taiwan, and if the factory in US gets built they lose that. So, it might be a political game they’re playing there.

World News@lemmy.ml•The West Must Recognize Its Hypocrisy writes Financial TimesEnglish12·2 years agoThe difference is that you’re the one who sealions in to my threads and starts making personal attacks. I just reply to your smears, but you’re the one who always initiates. And nowhere have I made any purity tests for anyone, that’s just a thing you made up. But I’m sure you’re going to claim I’ve somehow misrepresented you once again.

Once you actually read the articles you’ll see that China’s coal use is in fact in line with the goal. Meanwhile, renewable and nuclear capacity in China is growing at breakneck speed while the rest of the world is doing jack shit. Anybody claiming that China isn’t doing their part is deeply intellectually dishonest.
