I wouldn’t initiate or invite, but if I just happen to be in the same room with myself it would be fine. It would be mostly quiet and we do our own thing, or the occasional silly philosophical or metaphorical discussions but probably nothing real or deep. Or maybe it’ll be a free therapy session, having 2 brains figure out my emotions

I had a colleague who said “physio just gives you exercises/homework while chiro fixes you on the spot”
thisisdee@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was the strangest reason you got in trouble in school?English14·5 days agoWent to a pretty strict school with uniform/dresscode in Asia. One of the rules is we’re not allowed to dye our hair. One of my high school teachers was convinced that all Asians have black hair, so my hair that’s very slightly brown under sunlight cannot be natural. It’s so subtly brown that most people would say I have black hair. It’s just that he saw me under the sun with my friends who had blacker hair than me that he assumed I died my hair.
At first he gave me a written warning. I thought it was stupid so I ignored it. The next time I had his class, he pulled me aside and told me he was gonna send me home cos I still hadn’t dyed my hair back to black. I’d never really been in trouble at school so I didn’t even know what I was supposed to do. Since he was teaching a class, he sent me to the teachers lounge and find someone there and tell them I’m supposed to be sent home. Luckily the teacher I found there was someone who liked me and when I told her about the issue she just laughed and said that’s stupid. She let me hang out with her until the end of the period so I didn’t have to deal with the other teacher until she got a chance to talk to him.

We’re also interested in Murderbot but want to wait until the whole season is available
I like 13 more than 11 and 12…
I agree. It was a slog for me to finish his run. Capaldi was exciting in the beginning, had some great episodes, but still a bit rough. I think I just personally don’t like Moffat as a show runner.
My husband is on the “Donna is annoying” camp. Which is totally understandable especially since she basically screamed every line during her first appearance. He softened up on her later on cos she’s funny but still thinks she’s mostly annoying
I think Martha is underrated. She’s a doctor, actually brings knowledge/expertise, and still has the human compassion aspect that Rose and Donna rely on. Her only flaw is that she had a crush on the Doctor and he didn’t reciprocate.

Not quite sure what to watch next but I think we have a few queued up on Apple TV+
thisisdee@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How long do I need to exercise for before I start seeing a difference?English3·16 days agoI believe it’s true too that other people might notice first. I think it might be because we look at the mirror often, especially when working out, and don’t notice the small changes our body has gone through during the process. But when you see someone you haven’t seen in weeks, the difference is much more noticeable

No idea how long he was in there but it was bad enough that the fire sprinklers went off and flooded the basement and first floor. The guy got kicked out of the dorm, but don’t know what else happened or how much it cost.

thisisdee@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which country do you live in and how much paid time off work do you get?English1·25 days agoI live in Australia but working remotely for a US tech company.
- Unlimited PTO (company policy) that my boss encourages to take. If I take less than 4 weeks then I get paid (Australian policy)
- Unlimited sick days
- 16 weeks maternity leave at full pay (company policy), or 24 weeks at national minimum wage (~AUD 185/day) for Australian policy. Up to 12 months unpaid
I usually take 6-8 weeks a year of PTO and for maternity leave I’ll take the 16 weeks paid, and 8 extra weeks unpaid/minimum wage (depending on my spouse’s situation)
Not that I know of. I do think the 7-simul method might be interesting to learn but I haven’t spent much time on it

Reviews have been pretty good and word of mouth seems to be decent as well. This is 100% a spoiler for those who haven’t watched it. I did think it’s quite soon from its release to them revealing it publicly like this though
They might run away from fire in fear
