Been using PipePipe for so long that I forgot that YouTube just recommends things to you…

AFAIK it’s just Arch with Hyprland and some configs. Don’t get the hype at all…
We had a class at my university talking about Imposter Syndrome that spent the whole class telling us that ‘everybody feels it’ and therefore it must be OK.
In my head I spent the time thinking “yeah, but they just have imposter syndrome, whereas I’m actually an impostor”.

I use Transit for public transit, and I find the bike routes here in Amsterdam are better on CoMaps than on Google. Google Maps is notoriously crap for bikes in Europe

Depending on the software, Winboat might be what you need.
I’ve had Nobara on my PC for several years and not had a problem, though I know others have
Having said that, if I could be bothered I would probably just return to regular Fedora again so that I could have a decent package manager and updater…

So a wheelchair can easily pass through them.

I responded to their email asking for donations explaining why I won’t be donating this year. I usually donate a small amount each year but I won’t be until they change their mind.

The joke is that he played so poorly he might as well not have been.
I just wasn’t aware that Lineage is degoogled, that’s all.
It’s not some conspiracy against Lineage, Lineage seems great. Haven’t used it in a while but that’s just because I use e/OS personally.
GrapheneOS, Iodé and /e/OS should be unaffected if you want open Android

I have /e/ on my Fairphone 5 and I like it well enough. I was looking for a degoogled European android ROM and it works OK for that. My banking apps etc. all work and I only occasionally have problems with apps relying too heavily on Google services and therefore not working.
They definitely have better integration with Murena services but I use Proton instead and I’ve not had a problem.
I’ve heard good things about iodé too.

Also this ignores that 50k goes a lot further in France than in the US. In my experience cost of living is around 1.5x in the US when you account for everything than it is in France.
It’s all worth it when you find the occasional confused mutualist

Felony contempt of business model

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. In broad strokes, here’s the thinking to reply to a few comments at once:
We didn’t want to use a phone-based solution because she doesn’t always carry her phone in the middle of the night. This goes for carrying a button.
A LifeAlert system could work, but they usually involve buttons.
After talking about it, we realised that simply putting out a baby monitor or equivalent might be the most effective - she can shout at it and it will go direct. An alternative would be setting up a HA alert to broadcast based on a phrase (or a few). We’ll weigh up the options but I’m leaning towards the former.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the ideas - I think HA might not be the solution after all, but hopefully I can keep them from installing wiretaps Amazon Alexa in their house.

My partner and I played Roottrees together and I think it might have been our favourite game ever. We really enjoyed The Case of the Golden Idol too which scratches a similar itch (though I would love for them to make a Roottrees sequel)
He has also posted a map to Truth Social. So while it may have started as parody…
