This is a great explanation and I hope it’s true. It just feels… so weird how no reason could even be given, especially if it was budgetary. One of my coworkers actually graduates this year, so if someone needed to be fired… I mean… that’s a few months away anyways. I know it doesn’t explain anything, since maybe even with that person gone then 4 people is already too much. This is probably where I should stop speculating. Heh. It might just be budgetary. I’m certainly going to ask for a reference from my supervisor (he liked me). At the end of the day, I still got something out of these last 5 months. I just wish it could’ve been in better graces.

As for my speculation, I don’t think anyone has ever actually been “fired” at my job, most are told they can take a rec credit over the summer to keep working. So—that is why I am assuming the reason to be so. It is also just really hard to not land on that assumption when I’ve heard those same heavy words been said before in the same mellow and frail tone.

I thought about it but it’s a shame/anxiety thing for me. I have a brittle social support network and few real connections besides the ones my parents made for me or the ones I made accidentally.
