Wow that’s hilarious, when I saw the headline I thought of SFA but I didn’t realize it was literally mentioned in the article.
I think score aggregators are stupid in the first place and I feel bad for anyone who looks to them as a deciding factor on if they should watch something. The entire point of reading something from a reviewer is that you get to know what that person likes/dislikes. “enjoyableness” is not some numerically quantifiable thing and at best you’ll just e chasing some bland average.

weird how many hoops you are willing to jump through to discourage anyone talking about the gays in a positive way 🤔
protip next time you want to LARP as a non bigot, don’t call it “nutrek” that’s a dead giveaway

man it’s just crazy all the boxes that have to be checked in order to celebrate lgbt representation! its like the bar is set impossibly high! ugh! so crazy.
Obviously you are not a bigot and think representation is a good thing too! thats why it sucks that everything has to be just so perfectly aligned in order to celebrate it! ugh!

I know right? All this talk of moon bases and mars bases? Where is the money coming from?

I gotta say I really didn’t expect Paramount Plus to be a major player in the streaming wars

Stop with the whattaboutism. First of all, it’s literally an interview with the actor about their character.
Secondly, declaring that articles about queer characters can only be allowed to exist if they include some unrelated “both sides” criteria is a clear attempt to silence queer voices.

Damn 99% of the time someone says not to use an open source product it’s because of some obscure drama unrelated to the actual program.
But in this case the dev appears to not just be using AI code (not great but debatable) but using mostly AI code and using AI to reply to bug reports. Not something the average person wants to be running in a live environment.
I haven’t used Booklore but the excitement around it was nudging me there. I think I’ll stick with CWAs slower rollout.

Don’t feed the troll, there is no need to allow yourself to be put on the defensive justifying why an LGTBQ character exists. The person you’re replying to needs to make the case for why shouldn’t matter (but they can’t because the reason is they are bigoted).

A lot of people didn’t give a fuck about Uhura being on the bridge, but that is not a reason to NOT include her character on the bridge. Just because you don’t consider yourself bigoted does not mean that gay characters should not be celebrated for breaking new ground.

Uh… why shouldn’t they?

Oddly mature of you in this day and age to recognize that instead of publish an hour long youtube rant on the topic

Thanks for catching that I edited my comment

New Republic is definitely left leaning but they are typically factual (citation). This is not their typical fare.

The indie game CONSCRIPT takes place at Fort Vaux. Very depressing and difficult. Highly recommended.

The headline is misquoting him, the full quote is:
“Well, because we all agree that it’s a tragedy having the school hit, and we all agree now for an investigation,” Fetterman said. “What I don’t agree with the rest of my colleagues in the House is that it’s a war of choice, or it’s dumb, or all the things my colleagues have described, you know, this operation. I think it’s a good thing, and I support that.”
Still glaringly stupid, but the headline makes it seem like he’s in denial it happened. He didn’t say the words “leftist” or “craze”
Edited for accuracy!

does anyone actually care about a gay character on Star Trek in the year 2026?
According to Karim’s recent AMA here, yes, a lot. I’m old but I have to imagine it’s a lot harder being a queer kid in 2026 than it was a decade ago!
Also, I assume that many of the Klingons we’ve seen on Star Trek over the years were gay. I think he’s just the first Klingon which was identified to the audience as gay.
Also yes, the headline makes it clear this is Star Trek’s first gay Klingon. Not the Klingon species’ first gay.
