Honestly I might get more active in posting, cause some of the content I wanna see is not active/has one person posting on the community. I rarely post on any social media, but the fediverse just sparks something in me to make it a more active place.

I’ve been consuming BL, Yaoi and m/m since middle school, so I was scientifically engineered and fated to find MRM one day out of desperation. I’m also a cyber student and love looking up privacy shit for the fun of it, so I joined the fediverse. I used to be on there a lot but now I frequent AO3 more.

I felt like I was in on some crazy secret when I saw how one of the pirated manga (Tadaima Okaeri, the ABO one…) got an anime last year. Felt surreal knowing some of that stuff is actually getting published 😅

I forgot not all clients do this and thought it was an anti-joke or something for a honest second.

Wow I just emailed MyReadingManga asking them to delete my account cause I didn’t need the email anymore and I couldn’t change it, and now I see this. Wonder if they’re gonna get hit with the ban. RIP, hopefully they do the conversion to threadiverse to save the comments since they are a WordPress site.

Well, I feel a decent amount of people knew it was selling their data, and just used it anyway thinking they’d get a discount from that sold data. Unfortunate but the modern reality we live in, and hey, nobody’s perfect as we’re all probably using a service or two that it’s totally bad for you (especially games)

But straight up stealing money from the YouTubers who thought they were getting sponsorship money? Now that shits crazy, and sounds illegal from the start. I mean how did they plan to respond to this once they were found out? Call me a fool but I wouldn’t expect a company to literally steal from their advisers/promoters.

Go to a highschool or in my case a softball field and you will find plenty. I hated walking around kids who were doing Tiktoks in my HS hallway cause they’re so fucking entitled. Bathrooms weren’t safe either, people did them there too. My fucking teammates were addicted to it, used to do them at tournaments and hotels frequently.

Interesting, I do use Freetube on laptop but it’s been finicky about when it wants to work lately. I figured it was more of YT blocking bs.

I tried Newpipe for Android and it wouldn’t work, so I went to the fork PipePipe which does work better, but at some point I had to login so it could use my API because YT blocked that too. Plus PipePipe can scan NicoNico videos and Bilibili videos.

How good is Freetube on android?

I mean yeah, it’s still pretty much in beta rn.

Not ur fault or anything but I’m a little tired of the people who keep questioning loops and pixelfed on being open source and federated. Like, it’s coming/already happened bro, just chill.

People keep being like “Is Pixelfed FOSS yet?” When there’s literally several 3rd party apps available for the service already (I use Pixelix). Loops app is in beta on Android and iOS, it’ll be open source when it’s not absolute dogwater to run (ngl the UI scroll is painful).

But like it just got funding and new members last week, it will be fully FOSS soon enough…

I’m young and even this has me gagging. Our Switch games definitely don’t look like that, although I do feel box art and blurbs on the back used to entice me more, but maybe that’s just because I’m not a kid anymore. But yeah this is fucking horrendous to look at 🤢

Do android system apps count as bloatware? Cause on GrapheneOS you quite literally start out with the bare minimum on a fresh install.

I haven’t done too much in terms of messing around with system apps besides allowing/denying some permissions with Permission Manager X

Just watched a video a month ago about how Gen Z is doomed to own nothing when we die, and how so many of us are in crazy debt already because of buy now pay later services. So thankful me and my sister are borderline allergic to spending money and that I just hate shopping for clothes because that shit was depressing to hear.

Apparently my gen fell into this debt whole because we think they’re not the “scary & bad” loans that our 2008 financial crisis parents had, these are “different” somehow 😬

Been using YT music Revanced since summer and it’s great. No ads and being able to have my phone off is heaven.

I really don’t get why Spotify people hate YT music and get so elitist about it, it literally has every song to ever exist; if it’s on YouTube, it’s on YT Music. I especially love it cause videogame OSTs are on there and frequently I see people crying “why isn’t it on Spotify?”

Okay, thanks. I noticed that minimalistic theme seemed to be a trend with the FOSS launchers, shame they’re so text based. Maybe it’s a sign I need to clean up my home screen lol.

Maybe I should just stick with what I have anyway, no need to clutter my phone 😅

Got any good FOSS/F-droid recommendations? I’m on GrapheneOS and used the launcher it came with (literally just launcher) but I’m thinking I might want something a little more “cuter/aesthetic” that can use icon packs. I do like widgets and apps on my screen, so I don’t like search/text-only launchers.

Octopath Traveler II is great so far, I’m about early-mid game. I played the first, and I felt it was too similar, but the day and night system is great, the characters are still pretty charming, and apparently there’s completely new classes that we can get from randos, which blew my mind when I found my first brand new class. The world design is fucking gorgeous 😍

I finally finished SMT V a few months ago after dropping it for like a year because the super boss made me wanna kill myself. NGL yeah, the game feels grind heavy a bit and every damn battle feels like an uphill one, but the satisfaction I got from winning them was nice. I can’t really see myself playing the game again though anytime soon, but I do want to play vengeance.

Yup, me and my sister did occasional Pokemon battles/trading and Mario Kart races with each other using the Download Play or whatever it was called. I think even 3DS had it, or something similar to that effect. I just wish I had enough friends who actually played Pokemon back then, cause at my elementary school only one friend had a 3DS and played Pokemon. Everyone else was too busy trying to be “cool” and play GTA and CoD 😮‍💨

If on Android, use Seal, a FOSS app that uses yt-dlp and allows you to download the video in a shit ton of format and stuff. Apparently can even embed subtitles and metadata into the files, although I never do that.
