Important context on Index Diachronica: it’s intended mostly for conlangers aiming for naturalistic/believable conlangs, in order to implement sound changes in their conlangs. I’ve seen a few linguists using them in informal discussion for Historical Linguistics, but it should be taken with a grain of salt since, while it’s an amazing resource, there might be some rough corners and errors here and there, and it includes families discredited by the academy (as Altaic).
