I was thanking my trees yesterday, as my biggest maple totally shades my backyard and makes it tolerable outside, even on the hottest of days!

I live in a hot climate and seriously don’t think I could survive without the tree cover we have. We’re lucky enough to be in a very shady neighborhood which makes being outside in the summer fairly pleasant, despite the heat!

I helped with a study to compare air temperatures between shaded and unshaded areas in my city, and they found at certain times of day the difference was about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s a huge difference and doesn’t even account for the heat of the sun shining on you directly!
