Lol, one time where only in the US is a good thing.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing that Plex looks at other income streams…it’s just unfortunate that the only way they are to do that is degrading the experience for others over time.
I like it. It means more users for jellyfin

Definitely, not sure why I’m getting down voted I was just sharing information lmao
Jellyfin is easy enough to get going, and I have it my annual try but it still feels clunky. Compared to Plex the windows client just doesn’t feel up to the level where Plex is.
Also noticed in my 5 minute attempt that hdr support seems to be lacking still.
Love the idea of an open source media system but it has a long way to go still.

It’s kind of funny to me how much the people who seem to hate Plex so much lurk in here, a community about Plex, just to spread misinformation and throw shade. Especially funny since Jellyfin falls on it’s face (or at least stumbles and makes difficult) trying to do most of what I actually use my Plex server for. Don’t get me wrong. Plex has it’s flaws. And Jellyfin will probably be great someday, but right now it’s strictly for the “I use Arch btw” crowd.

Do you mind sharing what things it falls/stumbles with? We’re always looking for feedback to make it better.
Does Jellyfin have:
Music filtering/smart playlists?
Sonic analysis of music to generate smart playlists?
Good 4k/x265 performance?
A third party (or built in) utility that shows me streaming usage per person?
Allows me to limit remote users to streaming from a single IP address at a time?
Let’s me watch something together with another remote user?
Has an app for most any device (like Plex or Emby) that does NOT require sideloading?
Has built in native DVR steaming/recording support?
Two factor authentication?
Doesn’t default new clients to 720p for remote streaming?
Easy login of other devices by entering in a randomly generated four character code?I do mind. This is a Plex community and I’m sick of reading through Jellyfish fanboy comments in every thread. Go ask in a Jellyfish community.
