The next time you're involved in a fender bender, the person who shows up to investigate may not be a police officer. A proposal that's close to becoming law would allow cities to hire and train civilians to handle minor traffic crashes that don't involve an injury.

Looks like they’re looking for creative ways to get around the problem of hiring enough cops… It kind of makes sense, I guess?

    Eh, I got hit+ran in cary 16 years ago, it was nice to have the report, but the insurance did the work.
