A teacher was busted for allegedly sexually abusing her 13-year-old student, reportedly having sex with him at least 12 times, sending him money via CashApp and having a pregnancy scare.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Laredo Morning Times in Texas, Adriana Mariel Rullan, 27, had “sexual intercourse/sexual contact” with the student a dozen times, including at a middle school in the United Independent School District.

I fucking hate not using the word rape to describe RAPE. It doesn’t matter that this piece of shit is female. Fuck.

It’s due to libel laws. Publications don’t want to get sued for alleging something before conviction. They’d be out of business if they called it rape.

I get we never want to make light of those who have been victims of rape but I do understand not wanting to touch it. It has an extreme pubic connotation and all it takes is one mistake “alleged” or not and the accused has a case for damages to reputation

I’m not saying it’s how it should be but until our laws change it’s the only option

That doesn’t work when the word doesn’t mean from a female to a male unfortunately though.

I definitely would’ve slept with her when I was 13 if she gave me the chance…which is exactly why it is and should be illegal. 13 year old kids aren’t developed enough to recognize a lot of bad ideas. A 27 year old teacher should be.

Exactly! It doesn’t matter if a child “enjoys” the sexual contact, because that can be weaponized and their future can be stolen. It’s unfortunately normalized for children in certain social spaces (especially celebrities) to date far upwards; we need better common knowledge about the danger of age gaps and the cycle of abuse it perpetuates.

He was later found with self-inflicted injuries, taken to a hospital and then admitted to a mental health facility…

I hope she rots in prison for the rest of her life.

Rape. It’s rape. Call it rape. Guys can be raped. That’s what happened.

From what I’ve heard it’s not legally advisable in most countries for media to lable things as rape prior to the perpetrator being convicted of rape. Also I think the law commonly defines rape as forceful penetration, at least in the US. So it’s not necessarily the writer’s/publisher’s fault when the headlines don’t call it what it is.
