I have the Ultra Watch 2 and the screen protector and case I use are both from the brand Spigen. It has been 2 months and so far no issues whatsoever.

I’ve never considered titanium an upgrade over stainless steel. It’s lighter, yes, but it’s also softer and very prone to dings and scratches. I collect knives and have many with titanium handles and can tell you that just contact with skin oils leave imperfections (referred to as “snail trails”) on it. Does stainless scratch as well? Absolutely, but you can always polish them out, not so much with titanium. Aluminum is also lighter than steel and exhibits the same wear characteristics as titanium (even though titanium is generally stronger overall) but is considered the inferior material for watch cases. Go figure.
it’s a watch, not a museum piece. Scuffs and scratches personalise it just for you.

I’ve had my Ultra for a year without a case or screen protector and it is still mint.
Same. I’ve seen more than one U2 already messed up though. I’m thinking that Mother Nature skit with recycled materials made everything substantially worse which is sad! More expensive, less durable, need to replace sooner but we’re saving the planet? Sure Apple.
I think it’s more about differing perspectives. One persons “low intensity” environment could be incredibly hectic to someone else. Everyone has different usage patterns and different opportunities for bumps and scrapes.
I’m blue collar, live on a homestead and spend my free time hunting or fishing with my boy. I’ve broken every single iPhone I’ve ever had in a super random way. I really can’t imagine someone doing more dumb shit than I do unless it’s intentional.
