Woman calls the police saying she thinks her caregiver is going to kill her and to get her out, the cops come, complement her caregiver’s weapons, and leave; hours later, the caregiver kills her.
Wow. American police really are just an execution and cleanup crew. Just have a chat and compliment someone who is accused of being a danger on their weapons, ignore the victim begging them to stay and help, and then blame the victim and lie.
They are not a cleanup crew. They just look at the mess. The mess stays after they’re gone.
True dat
Sure although someone was supposed to call in the cleanup crew and as police do determine when a crime scene stops being their topic, maybe they should be informing everyone about that or at least help with communicating that transition. It’s not like we’re comparing communication as the same as cleaning it up.
My friend’s neighbor shot himself in the bathroom of the house he was renting. After the police left, my friend and the landlord that owned the two properties had to clean his brains off of the bathroom walls and mop up a puddle of blood. My friend got a free month rent for helping the landlord.
This is America.
… Only a free month? After cleaning up brains? I hope there was also some pay for therapy.
Over a thousand dollars to wipe up a biohazard ain’t bad. Also gives them a month to find a new roommate without having to worry about covering his share of the rent.
I think it being a biohazard is not the issue.
Also, if you equate a roommate’s brain matter to any other biohazard waste, you might be psychopathic. I don’t mean that as an insult. Just keep in mind that most people aren’t as apathetic about these things.
But You don’t know what kinds of medical issues can be exposed when (any) types of bodies are open. Even in meat packing plants they are suited up.
you might be psychopathic
That’s a sever misuse of a word. You’re behaving quite hyperbolic for someone trying to downplay another topic.
It’s not the issue. As in the thing causing trauma. I didn’t say it wasn’t an issue. Seems like you’re focusing on the wrong part of the whole exchange.
As for being hyperbolic. I don’t think I am. EXTREME lack of empathy is an indicator of psychopathic tendencies. Although it really depends how you define the word.
It’s a leap to call concern of brain matter as an extreme lack of empathy. It’s loaded with prediction on your end of other people’s intent. No basis. to even go that distance to attribute it to psychotic tendencies. It reveals your lack of intellect to be ‘diagnosing’ so eagerly and incorrectly online. You did a bad job today.
Not sure what that has to do with the police, but they should have recommended a company to to help with cleanup at least.
Yeah or at least communicate. Helping with a transition on something like this is wholly overlooked and they are part of the process so certainly they can be communicating something.
Sorry, but cleaning up a suicide isn’t the job of the police, or even EMT beyond a certain point. This is why crime scene cleaning companies exist.
I would hope so. It’s massively dangerous to the exposure without the right gear.
this one is on the landlord for not taking proper precautions to call in a crew
I’m getting confused reading this. Did Cardana threaten to kill Fannel in the presence of the police, and the police just decided to leave?
He threatened to kill her after the cops said they had to leave. The victim told the cops that the perpetrator just threatened her. The perpetrator then told the cops to fuck off and they just did.
Man, to be able to just tell cops to fuck off, and have them listen?
Rio Rancho are like semi-police. It’s when you want the police perks but without the Albuquerque crime.

Knowing Rio Rancho, these officers will probably get a parade.
Jesus Christ, that was a dark article.
That article does not state that they added to the caregiver’s weapons.
Complement as in “Hey nice guns.” Not add to them.
That’s “compliment.” @SpaceNoodle was subtly criticizing the misspelling.
In US English, a, e, and i can usually be substituted for one another. Sometimes o as well.
“Compliment” and “complement” are two different words. Sorry, but you don’t get to change that particular spelling if you want to be understood.
wrang.
And frequently, doing so changes the meaning entirely.
I agree with andrew
There are dozens of us!
highlander rules
That’s the weirdest bit of completely false trivia I’ve seen in quite some time.
If it’s false, how come it’s true for so much of what’s posted online?
Because so many people are stupid?
Cmon I am just sht at typing not sht for brains
A dint bilaeve et.
He’s gone Scottish
Okay, who invited Old English to the party?
Condiment as in “Hey nice guns.” Not saucing them.
The word/homonym spelling you want in this case is ‘compliment’.
Should it?
Only if OP’s note is supposed to be accurate.

Paid leave while they investigate themselves?
You got it.
Is there another source? I can’t semester to access this website
Rio Rancho officers talk with Cardana about the firearms inside the home.
“You’re a firearms guy?” an officer asked.
“Oh, yeah,” Cardana said.
“Nice,” the officer said.
“They’re loaded. They’re ready to go,” Cardana said.
“We don’t need to see them,” the officer said. “There’s one probably right there in that case. And I see another one over there.”
The officer continued saying, “I like folks that have guns,” since he is a gun owner himself. As the officers begin to say their goodbyes to Cardana and Fannell, she begs them to stay at the home.
You cannot make this stuff up.
