Been having the same issue on WhatsApp since 17.1 dropped. Really frustrating ngl. Btw works as intended on various other apps just not WhatsApp, dunno the issue

I’ve exact the same problem!!! Must me an IOS problem. Not WhatsApp. Keyboard is an apple thing

Try putting a period after. Space ahead then delete. Never tried on WhatsApp but sometimes works on other iOS apps
