I seem to have some hidden data it seems on the pool that’s not showing.

I know I recently removed one of my pooled external drives and transferred data to it from another pc, thinking I could reattach and simply transfer the new data to the virtual drivepool hard drive, but the files aren’t showing on the drive at all that I can view! When I hooked it back up to the Drivepool pc!

Any ideas what I can do to fix please, as I haven’t a clue!

:)

Your explantion of the problem is ambiguous.

On each disk there is a hidden PoolPart folder. In Windows explorer you must enable view > hidden folders to see it.

Everything in these folders is part of your Pool. Anything on the disks but outside these folders is ‘Other’.

If you want to force files into the Pool - for example using another system which does not have Drivepool installed - you have to move them into the hidden poolpart folder. This practice is discouraged because it can confuse Drivepool or cause errors. But if you must do it follow the instructions on Drivepool website/forum.

Nah, all you have to do is drag the folder into the “poolpart” folder and recalculate storage in Drivepool and it shows up. Nothing fancy needed.

I had a problem where one of my drive was dying and drivepool wasn’t able to finish reading file so it showed as “other”.

if you don’t use stablebit scanner yet you could get install it and use the trial to see if everything is fine with your drives.
