Could be anybody at this point, and there’s still a LOT of football left to be played. My money is on whoever is healthiest by the end of this nightmare.

I really think the Steelers are prone to collapse right now with all of our defensive injuries. Our two starting linebackers lost to season ending injuries + Minkah still out indefinitely it seems = our defense is pretty much terrible except defensive line and Joey Porter Jr. We were able to win because of the run game against the Packers but the Packers do not have a good run defense, which is not gonna be the case for the AFCN games we have left to play. Considering the Colts have a great coached offense, the Cards have Kyler back, and we often fall on our face against the Pats, I don’t think we have a game we’re overly likely to win left on our schedule.

I think we haven’t hit our stride, yet. We’re still working out the kinks and there’s room to work, but we need to get it together on Thursday or the next game or else we’re dead in the water.

“The big revelation on Sunday was the Browns. They trailed most of the game, then a fluky pick 6 turned the momentum of the game and they won on the final play”

If Browns pick 6 was fluky, so was baltimores. Take them both away, and what do you get?

By rights the Texans probably should’ve won 40-14 the way the Bengals were playing.

I get that the Texans are raw and they, while on the rise, still aren’t a great team. But sometimes you sit in the chair thinking it’s over but Cam T-B and Joey B are like “Hold our beers, boys” and the game begins anew.

I can’t fault Boyd too much. Everyone drops passes or throws picks or misses a block. But despite being beat down most of the game, those guys were one fluke dropped TD pass from a win. That’s insane and it’s ridiculous.

      But it’s true.

In that same vein, it was also a bad Stroud INT from not even getting the chance. Burrow was pretty damn bad in the 4th quarter and it’s silly to try to pin the blame on Boyd for one dropped pass considering Burrow threw two bad picks in the 4th quarter.

It just really tells you the difference in narratives around certain players in the league that Burrow isn’t getting roasted for his 4th quarter performance. Whereas you sit here and see Lamar for instance have his performance with one batted INT destroyed against a much better team lol.

Also pretty much every pick 6 is fluky. It’s not like the defense is drawing up a scoring play before the snap (unless you’re Pittsburgh).

Its mind blowing other teams don’t call for timely turnovers when needed. Just tell the defense to get the ball ya sillies

The browns also had a “fluky” dropped punt and missed XP. Take away a great player’s great plays then they’re not a great player. Duh. We won the game because absolutely turned it up in the 2nd half and didn’t let plays that were going against us stop us from winning. We also had a tipped pass lose us the game two weeks ago so we’re back to even on that front.

tbf the browns and ravens pick sixes were both off tipped passes, but one was tipped straight up in the air and intercepted by a random defender who was in the right place in the right time (though props to him for having the awareness to find the ball), and the other was a defender tipping the ball to himself and walking into the endzone

I’d argue the former is flukier than the latter

I’d even argue the cowboys up there. I know it was the giants last week but watching the offense fire on all cylinders the last two games is not making me feel good for the NFC east title.

You absolutely cannot write any one of these teams off at any point until the season is over.

Steelers have been counted out 82 times this season, but the 4th quarter voodoo dark magic on their side says other wise

Ravens can explode and boat race anyone at any time, and they have a fantastic defense as well

Bengals can light your ass up when Burrow is loose and connecting with Chase or Higgins.

Browns can stifle anyone with our defense, and if a functional offense shows up and plays complimentary to the defense we can beat anyone

If our run game that showed up against the Packers continue to work and Pickett gets around 200-250 yards a game. Then with our defense creating turnovers and continue to play excellent redzone defense while not turning the ball over. Then we can be contenders with a little bit of 4 quarter Kenny because at least he’s clutch.

But honestly I’m just along for the ride and I just laugh at all the weird shit thst happens in a Steelers game now.

The Ravens have a very tough schedule to end the year with CIN @LAC BYE LAR @JAX @SF MIA PIT.

Pittsburgh is also entering a hard part of the season with @CLE @CIN ARZ NWE @IND CIN @SEA @BAL.

Cincinnati has a moderate schedule left with @BAL PIT JAX IND MIN @PIT @KC CLE.

Browns have relatively the easiest schedule left with PIT @DEN @LAR JAX CHI @HOU NYJ @CIN.

I could see any of the teams winning the division, but I think Pittsburgh has the worst chance while the Browns have the best if only because of strength of schedule remaining.

the last 4 weeks for us are brutal, could very easily see us going 1-3 or 2-2. we are either going to be limping into the playoffs or the toughest team coming out of it.

…or missing it entirely due to this rough ass AFCN division

You’re not wrong. The late bye will definitely help prepare for it, but it is a brutal road to finish out. And this last stretch includes two West Coast games against very good opponents.

I think you’re overestimating the toughness of the steelers schedule. The only actual really hard game left is Baltimore but we’ve had their number in the Jackson era. By then though depending how they’ve done, they may be benching players too.

Here is the classic “Steelers fan overestimating their own team” comment that was missing. There were too many people above being honest about the luck thus far.

The Steelers have been outgained in every single game this year. It took 2 defensive TDs for example to win by just two points at home against the Browns…and you think the only hard game left for this Steelers team is the Ravens.

Sorry, Pittsburgh Steelers fans, but we’re about to get into a lot to talk about with the hierarchy of the AFC North and it’s best to get this out of the way: Your team isn’t going to maintain this.

    We know but hey.

FR tho - it’s going to be really funny if we actually do make something out of this and a whole lot of people have to eat crow. Those of us who have watched the games know what kind of football team we have (or don’t) but it’s still funny how teams give us juuuust enough leeway to drag them down with us and we inevitably do.
