Oh I have been looking for another Metroidvania that leans into the “Metroid” side of the genre over the Castlevania, and more recently Hollow Knight/Silksong, side of the genre.
Don’t get me wrong, melee combat and stuff is great but the genre today is so oversaturated with it.
I want my “sci-fi, shooty-shooty combat with more focus on precision platforming and movement” Metroidvanias too.

Yup. One and Two.
Those were a fantastic love letter to old school Metroid.
They really were. I rarely bother 100%-ing games these days but I did for those.
Rebel Transmute is also a great title.
Its still got Melee combat but FIST is pretty good and more futuristic.
Played it already. A bit clunky but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Zoopunk follow up coming out.
Reminds me of Ori a bit. Sold!
