Yes, we forgot how much social unrest the first mask policies caused. This is just China, but my feeling is that the lawlessness of the Depression in America had to do with the fallout from masking policies. Also the prevalence of masks (gas and otherwise) in interbellum Germany boosted the conservative jingoism that led into fascism and WW2.

Look at what mask and quarantine policies have caused in America today. We’ve sped things up nowadays through technology and communications. The kids who grew up under mask mandates and quarantines, the moment they became adults, were essentially feral and lawless.
