I don’t know, I’d believe either. He was definitely way more articulate back then though - comparatively.
I had the sense that he was primarily driving his own tweets until the last few years, but this thread got me to checking and it seems I’m not quite right. Here is a pull from this article from 2016 I found searching about this:
