Federal agents shot and killed a U.S. citizen in Texas last year, but initial reports did not reveal their involvement, with the details now coming to light through internal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) records.

Ruben Ray Martinez, 23, was shot by an ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officer in South Padre Island, Texas, on March 15, 2025, after what ICE described as a failure to follow law enforcement instructions during a traffic incident as agents worked with local police on immigration enforcement.

Latin America is also America. That’s why term like “Mesoamericans” is a thing.

That’s true however, it’s a common colloquialism in the USA. People from the USA are called Americans instead of United Staticans.

Right, which is also handy for linguistic erasure and detachment too. It makes denial of the truth that “other” Americans were here before white Americans that much easier.

Almost like Colonial preferences are build into many different aspects of the system, and can prop each other up automatically, and devoid of thought.

So that thoughtlessness, a lack of love, or empathy can be made default for some.

        It’s efficient.

Amerigo Vespucci is the resason it is called the Americas.

Calling it “the Americas” or the “New World” is also colonial preference.

It always bothered me that people seemingly from around the world always referred to the US as “America”. I expressed that a couple times and was essentially told it doesn’t matter. It’s nice to see lately that at least some other people think it does.
