This was AOC’s first Congressional appearance on the national stage, as she questioned Michael Cohen about Trump’s business dealings. Cohen had taken a plea deal, and was going to prison, but he wanted to tell his story in Congress, in front of the American people.

Unfortunately, several Reps wasted their time as they usually do, posturing and propagandizing, and saying and accomplishing nothing. Cohen had been asked about little of substance, and you could tell he was getting frustrated.

Then AOC’s turn came, and she was ready. This was her first national appearance, but it didn’t look like it. She was confident and determined. She warned Cohen that she might move fast, and she took off. She launched into a fast series of precise questions about values of specific properties, and Cohen fired back just as quickly with answers, as well as those in Tumps office who handled those issues.

By the time she was done, in less than five minutes, she had uncovered enough actionable material, under oath, that it formed the core of Leticia James’ 34 successful felony convictions against him. It was a remarkable political performance, one of the best I’ve seen in my lifetime.

That was the FIRST thing she did in Congress. She’s EXACTLY what we need. I’ll vote for her for anything. I’d love her to be President.

I have seen them saying similar things. Not this exactly, but saying that AOC is a liberal because she won’t take the most extreme positions. Even if she believed in those positions, which I’m sure she does some of them, it’d be political suicide to stand that ground. They want politician-activists. Those jobs are practically mutually exclusive, but they’re too dumb to realize it. I can’t think of a single activist leader who was also an elected official.

Cause she would never win in today’s climate. US is still too bigoted to elect a woman.

Black men were allowed into our political environment 50 years before women. I’d like to think we’d have a woman elected president before 2058, but wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t happen. I think that’s a major reason Hilary lost, no one really expected trump to win in 2016.

It doesn’t contradict what I said. The majority of people back then thought a black man would never win rather than thinking it is harder. Since at least 1970 that was the dominent mentality that makes even people who really want to vote for a black man not voting for one.

You just need the right person in the right timing. Right now is the perfect time dissatisfaction for Trump and the republican party is huge. The wrong person is definitely Newsome

        I don’t know… I think it’s more the coding than the reality.,

Hillary and Harris both tried being amicable and aspirational and appealing to people’s better instincts.

But most Americans don’t HAVE better instincts. So when AOC punches back and doesn’t take anybody’s crap, it’s gonna hit different.

For a democrat, she ain’t too bad.

Which means, I guess, that I don’t particularly align with most of what the party shills, but she seems to be thinking farther left, so I end up liking her anyway.

old guard DNC wont, the dinos only allowed her into the party because they need to take pressure/attention off them selves as a way to stall out more left candidates from being elected. they are protecting pedophiles, themselves the gop and the donors.
