Border Patrol Agent Aiming 40mm Launcher At My Head - ICE Protest 1/31

Picture from Saturday’s protest at the Portland ICE facility. An agent fixed his 40mm launcher at my head twice, despite me very obviously being a photographer.

The tanks stopped for tankman, who proceeded to climb on the tank to yell at the commander. The guy got down and was ushered away by random civilians.

We went past that in 2020, when individuals or crowds tried to block police vehicles, they often drove into them. They went further in 2025, with multiple people being murdered for doing the equivalent of what Tank Man did.

“The Land Of The Free” is one step above 2020 Nigeria or 2022 Myanmar levels right now.

The resistance and pressure as well as non-compliance Minneapolis has been doing is very good. The only addition is I’d add that they need to regularly guard their neighborhoods, armed. That they have contact with others in multiple ways to warn of ICE in the area. Maybe not armed but when a task force of ICE is found, they have a task force of citizens there to document, resist, and just be general interference. Far too many people talk about resisting and violence against ICE to mean lone wolf shooting. That’s not what we’re calling for.

You’re right, but America is funding the genocide so we’re still getting the shit for it. And don’t get me wrong, we deserve it when we deserve it, but there’s accounts out there unironically asserting that America is the root of all evil in the world and that it’s only America that is bad

No one pretends that the US is the only country doing anything bad… Arguably China and Russia for instance are still a lot worse when it comes to human right violations.

But it is a lot more pressing that USA is turning to fascism/authoritarianism since it will then be two global anti-democratic Superpowers not only one.

And before any .ml users jump the gun. Idgaf about how you think China is so great, keep it to yourselves.
