Must be difficult to find so many people called Jack
McLaren only needs a slight car performance increase before Red Bull has a problem. But, getting that increase will be tough. Hope they can still get it in this season.
Undoubtedly there’s still performance to be unlocked as they understand how the upgrades are working in the real world compared to the wind tunnel. A McLaren on the top step of a proper GP podium could be on the cards before the end of the season.
Well they’re still a half second behind the Bull. When it’s half that I’ll believe you.
They’re half a second behind one of the Red Bulls. The other one seems to have given up. If McLaren can regularly put two drivers on the podium then RBR have a problem next year.
Red Bull probably stopped developing their car months ago, they’ll be ok with getting overtaken by the pack by the end of the season.

I thought to myself woow that was quick when I saw it live. Then the 1.8sec came on the screen.
Weird “this video is not available.” But it’s mclaren’s account it looks like?
Even the Alfa mechanic at the end thought it was a hot pitstop 🤣
It’s looks so smooth, that’s what really stood out to me.
Smooth is fast applies to pit stops too it seems. That was mind blowing. Clearly it took many, many hours of practice to achieve that level of optimization.
But, whatever happened to the minimum 2 seconds requirement FIA set?
The guy who gives the green light has to take in a lot of information very quickly!
It’s crazy to think there are 20 people directly involved in a pit stop. (21 if you count the guy stood around not labelled or doing anything, but he doesn’t have a helmet.)
Incredible work!! A shining example of good teamwork, co-ordination, and everyone knowing exactly what their role is.
Absolutely amazing. So much respect for the skill and coordination of the pit team! Well done!
The gunner is there to ward off predators during the vulnerable state of pitting.
How long before they can change the wheels without stopping? Sounds dumb now but we’ll probably have that technology soon
I don’t see how that’s physically possible, you have to swap the whole wheel, there will always be some stopped time involved in that
Have a physically long machine do the work. It would have a carriage start moving just as the car arrives, pick up the car, replace tires and do whatever else is needed, then drop the car when it’s done.
But just because it can be done doesn’t mean it should be done. It would be extremely expensive to develop. That money is likely better spent optimizing the vehicle itself.
