OverClocked ReMix is a video game music community with tons of fan-made ReMixes and information on video game music.
I figured since we’re currently in a reawakening to decentralized and special purpose forums and websites, now might be a good time to remind people of OCRemix. Or help someone discover it for the first time.
@wagesj45 Great idea! I know and listen to OC Remixes since over a decade I think, when it was relatively small. Its my favorite non commercial music platform ever. They respect the original songs and artists, it’s really a place from fans for fans.

They even have Torrents to download ton of stuff: https://ocremix.org/torrents Here direct link to the two major Torrent links:
You can even use the music on videos in example, but have to give credit. More about that here: Frequently_Asked_Questions Can_I_use_OC_ReMixes_in_my…
A decade? Isn’t ocremix at least another decade older than that? I wanna say like closer to 2000 or 2001ish.
Edit: Wikipedia says December 1999
@SCmSTR Dang! You are right, if I think about it. Learned about OC Remix in early 2000s. Wow. Forgot how old I am… Literally remember how I bring mp3 files to my friends home to show off how crazy songs there are.
Lol did you do it on cd, some device, or during a lan .
I still have folders on my hdds that have migrated from very old hdds that are like “xxxPersonNames music” that we used to just copy during our small lans around 2003. I gotta check now to see if I have any old ocremix files in there from around that time. I bet I do…
@SCmSTR No we never did Lan parties at home unfortunately. :-( But we played a lot of fighting games back then and the repeating songs got old. So we often just turned down the music and played something from hard drive. :-) So in a sense like LAN parties without LAN. Can we call it WLAN Party? :D
And in the past I experienced the worst thing that could have happened to anyone: Losing all personal data on HDDs! My younger self didn’t know that backups was important.
I forget people don’t know about OCR.
I haven’t thought about OCRemix in like 20 years. Can’t believe it’s still around! I used to download songs off here and play them through WinAmp while playing EverQuest, which had pretty dire music.
Same!!! I probably used it about 20 years ago and, until this post, had completely forgotten it existed. Holy crap how time flies. I can’t believe it’s still a thing and going strong.
I used to be a frequent poster/commenter on OCR and the lesser known parody site OverLooked Remix way back in the day. It always warms my heart to see that site still going strong and seeing remixes from it used during Speedrun marathons on twitch
@wagesj45 So much amazing stuff came out of OCRemix. I absolutely need to look up more.
Oh man, I forgot all about OC Remix! I miss some of the bizarre “techno version” songs people would make there. I remember having some really weird mp3s on my Zune of remixes from Diablo 1 songs.
My old iRiver had so many great songs. I remember loving this Zombies Ate My Neighbours remix, I need to go find it again.
I almost bought an iRiver after one of my best friends at school showed me how he could play music videos on his. This was back in like 2004/2005 or so, so that was super impressive tech at the time.
my god i had an iriver back in college. that thing was the best music player. had that srs wow built in and sounded amazing. i loved that thing so much. that and my zune. i miss my dedicated hardware.
OMG I haven’t been to OC Remixed in years. They’ve been at it for a long time and I’ve known some interesting mixes from there. I think I still have them somewhere on a hard drive.
OC Remix gives me hope for the internet. They’ve been around for years and didn’t succumb to enshittification.
And they still have my one and only remix I did in 2002:
i dig it, friend
I’ve stopped using their forums years ago (no reason, just fell out of habit), but I’ve been following the site since through RSS and YouTube.
I’m so glad they’re still kicking around. <3
There was a remix of Gato’s Song from Chrono Trigger where they performed it in several different styles and added in a crowd booing after every performance that strangely stuck with me after all these years.
And I found it! It’s Team Gato by Dale North and Mustin! And here’s the link to it directly on Youtube.
I remember that one, Gato’s Song was such a strong theme for a literally one-scene character, their riffing on him and his original dialog was brilliant.
I’ve casually followed them on YouTube, but haven’t visited the site in ages! Used to be a daily thing. Good call reminding us!
OCR is, and has always been, an incredible source for music.
I remember OCRemix from when TotalBiscuit would promote so much of their music.
I’m usually checking out the site weekly, feature a song at the end of each of my podcast episodes AND stream it every so often from rainwave.cc.
If you are interested, did a great interview Larry Oji and DJ Pretzel last year about the history and future of OCR.
