If you want to browse tweets, user profiles, and comment threads on the web, then you currently need to be signed in to a Twitter account.
Nitter and embeds still work at the moment. However, no one knows for how long. As a workaround the user-agent can be changed to “googlebot”.
Nice one. But i suspect these embeds will not work for long.
You’re right. None of the workarounds work any more. Neither the user-agent nor publish.twitter.com nor Nitter. Seems like they also don’t want to be indexed by search engines any more.
At least they try to protect “their” data. /s
seems to be temporary: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1674865731136020505?t=1Wqs0P1wAH0xJg9Iw2qgLA&s=19
I don’t know, since twitter is blocking me if i try to access it without an account. But i could image that twitter is going into that direction. Reddit seems to do it too for the mobile users.
There is a (temporarely?) workaround for the (temporarly?) issue. https://publish.twitter.com/?query=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Felonmusk%2Fstatus%2F1674865731136020505%3Ft%3D1Wqs0P1wAH0xJg9Iw2qgLA%26s%3D19&widget=Tweet
Yup, very temporary. Just stopped working too.
Even SRF has the urge to write about it. https://www.srf.ch/news/wirtschaft/voruebergehende-massnahme-twitter-fuehrt-beschraenkung-beim-lesen-von-beitraegen-ein
