The Microsoft Authenticator app is now issuing notifications warning that the password autofill feature is being deprecated in July, suggesting users move to Microsoft Edge instead.

Yeah, i get it, not a good company an evil empire but would you rather a company that you have never even heard of, who probably has a cybersec department that is funded the amount microsoft can afford for it’s cafeteria?!

Not speaking about the evil empire bit at all, actually (though they are). More so of the security aspect. They’re known for cutting corners on security to the point that their security neglect has created the situations needed to cause some of the greatest security vulnerabilities worldwide. Read up on EternalBlue as a good segue.

Yeah, I do know about that but there is also this phenomenon, I think its called observers bias, and I think it applies here, sure there have been great security breaches in microsoft but they are only known so well cuz u dont check chinese news!, or for that matter you may not even see small company’s security breaches on the general page of an english news site, microsoft is ubiquitous, no matter where you live or weather you follow the news or not, if there is a security breach at microsoft you will know it

I’m not talking about standard breaches. I’m talking about security laziness. If you want to trust them, go for it. As for me, I choose to distrust their security practices due to their long history of security laziness and neglect, that continues to this day.

bitwarden for passwords, aegis for time based codes.

choose the eu instance for bitwarden.

don’t forget that google play tries to deceive you when searching by showing you the real app down in the results, and the first result usually being an actual piece of malware that tries to lock you in.

there’s just 2 official servers. the default selection is the one in the USA. you can use any of them regardless of where you live.

there are other public servers too, and it can also be selfhosted.
