I’m so happy with all the Metroidvanias that have came out in the past decade.
I grew up replaying Castlevania Symphony of the Night and all the handheld ones over and over.
Even the Steam ones with under 1000 reviews are fun to play.
Last year felt like the best year for releases, and this year has a ton of bangers already and may end up beating 2024.
There are some great releases on the horizon. I’m about to post about the new Metroid and the dystopian Pac-Man metroidvania.
