The “normal” oil used for such an event would be baby oil or maybe a cooking oil like canola or coconut.
But I choose to believe Peterson was going all in on his new persona as chief oil lobbyist. He wants to see them wrestling in crude oil and the victor rising up like some mixture of the Dune character and the oil tycoon character from “There Will Be Blood”
