I finally caught my Tesla ignoring a voice command it clearly heard and understood. It properly shows the command in the text box, then does nothing with it. It does this when it has no connectivity, but when it has no connectivity, nothing shows up in the text box. This is the first time I have been able to catch it where it clearly heard me, clearly understood what I said, then completely ignored me.
Voice commands are stupid. We need buttons.
I agree there needs to be more buttons, and removing the stalks is idiotic, inconvenient, and frankly unsafe. But I’m not campaigning for a hard button to set navigation destination to home. You can just swipe down or right on the navigation text field.
Sure and navigation is one of the only things I’d actually use voice for. They recently added the right wheel scroller menu stuff which is good but it wouldn’t have been necessary if they’d just add some fucking buttons for things that cars have always had and will always have: namely climate and wipers.
Though I’d want more hard buttons across the board, at a minimum I’d argue it needs to be a real button for any safety sensitive activity. Gear selection, steering, acceleration and braking, wipers, defrost/defog, turn signals, lights, etc.
Really wish voice nav and search would search favorites.
One time I said “navigate to dad’s” and it routed me to a strip club lmao.

Maybe it knows it’s you and it doesn’t like you? 🙈
That said, I do assume you have set Home? If not it wouldn’t know what to do.
