All of the people I know who cheated on a spouse did it because they wanted the passion and intimacy from a new relationship. They were just passionate and intimate with more than one person and behind the back of the person they were supposed to be faithful to.

Obvious results are obvious, but good to see them confirmed through a study and not just anecdotes.
